V-ELMS believes that the key to the client's success is the mentoring relationship between the client and the assigned volunteer, who is matched with client by learning style. A mentor is a caring person who offers support, advice, reinforcement, and a constructive example. Mentors are great listeners who want to help bring out the strengths that are already in the client.
This year-long contract ensures mentees have the guidance they deserve. You will be in contact via V-ELMS closed circuit e-mail service weekly. You will attend monthly social/educational face-to-face gatherings where bonding can be further enhanced. You will immediately share red flag words in the mentees' e-mail or unusual behavior to V-ELMS staff.
